Privacy Policy

The short version: BettrBall is a free, play-money football picks game. We collect only what the game needs: your email, password, display name, and the leagues and bets you make. We don't show ads, don't use analytics or tracking, don't sell your data, and never handle real money. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.

Who we are

BettrBall is operated by BettrBall LLC ("BettrBall", "we", "us"). This policy covers the BettrBall website at app.bettrball.com and the BettrBall apps for iPhone and Android.

What we collect

Account details: your email address, your password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form; we can't read it), and the display name you choose.
Game activity: the leagues and pools you create or join, the play-money bets you place, and your results and standings.
On your device: the app remembers which league you last selected, stored only on your device.
Notifications (apps only, if you turn them on): a notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications, and your notification settings. If you don't turn notifications on, no token is created.
Technical information: like any website or app, the services that host BettrBall receive your IP address and basic request details (such as device and browser type) when you use it.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, payment details or any real-money information. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

How we use it

To run your account and sign you in, including password-reset emails.
To run the game: place and settle bets, schedule matchups and show standings.
To send the notifications you turned on: bet results, betting reminders and matchup results.
To keep BettrBall working and secure, including fixing problems and preventing abuse.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

What other players can see

People in your leagues and pools can see your display name, your results and standings, and your bets once each bet's game has kicked off.
Your email address, the money you have in play and your potential payouts are never shown to other players.

Services we use

BettrBall relies on a few service providers, who handle data only to provide their service:

Supabase: our database and sign-in system, which stores your account and game data.
Netlify: hosts the BettrBall website.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), apps only: delivers the notifications you turn on, using your device's notification token. On iPhone it passes them to Apple's push notification service.
ESPN: game schedules, scores and betting lines. Your device may load this data directly from ESPN, which means ESPN receives your IP address.
Google Fonts: delivers the app's font, so Google receives your IP address when it loads.
Ko-fi (website only): if you choose to leave an optional tip, that happens on Ko-fi under Ko-fi's own privacy policy. BettrBall never sees your payment details.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time:

In the app: More → Delete account.
On the web (no app needed): sign in at app.bettrball.com, then More → Delete account on a phone, or How it Works → FAQ → "How do I delete my account?" on a computer.
By email: write to support@bettrball.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete your account within 30 days.

When your account is deleted:

Your email address, password, display name, sign-in sessions and notification tokens and settings are deleted right away.
You leave every league and pool. Leagues you run pass to their longest-standing member, or are deleted if no one else is in them.
Your past bets and matchup results stay in league history as an anonymous "Deleted player", with nothing linking them to you, so your league-mates' records stay accurate.

Deleted information may remain in our service providers' routine backups for a limited time (typically no more than 30 days) before it's overwritten.

Age

BettrBall is a play-money game with simulated betting and is intended for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Your data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and database rules limit each player to the information they're allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

You can change your display name and delete your account in the app at any time. You can also contact us to ask for a copy of your information or for help correcting or deleting it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor those requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app.
